Wood Milling and Kilning

A tree’s journey doesn’t end when it’s cut down. Through sawing, drying, and processing the wood, it can continue to live on in a different way with a renewed purpose.

The saw mill is the first step in our wood processing operation. Once logs are cut, we transport them back to our saw mill and begin sawing. Using precision equipment, we cut the logs into various dimensions based on specific project requirements. This process includes ripping the logs into planks and boards and cross-cutting them to desired lengths. Operations are performed carefully and strategically to ensure accuracy and minimize waste, producing lumber that meets industry standards.

After the sawing process, the freshly cut wood must be dried to prevent staining, mold, warping, or cracking. This is where our kiln comes into play. The wood is loaded into the kiln, where it is subjected to controlled heat and humidity levels. This drying process typically takes several days to weeks, depending on the type of wood and its thickness. The kiln not only accelerates drying but also helps eliminate moisture content to a suitable level, between 6% to 8%, which is ideal for most applications.

After the wood is dried and conditioned to remove stress, it can be further processed through the use of our machinery. With our top-of-the-line planer, jointer, sander, shaper, bandsaws, and ripsaws, the wood can be transformed to fit any use.
